أح (ʾaḥ)

  1. it is there
  • أح cannot stand on its own. It is only used with third-person pronouns attached to it, not enclitic pronouns. The هـ (h) that begins the attached pronouns is assimilated into the preceding ح (ḥ).
    • أحهو (ʾaḥuwwe, there it is) masc.
    • أحهي (ʾaḥiyye, there it is) fem.
    • أحهن (ʾaḥinne, there they are)
  1. ما عم بلاقي الورود. شفتيهن شي؟ (mā ʿam blēʾe l-wrūd. šiftiyon ši?)
    I can't find the flowers. Have you seen them?

    They are there.
