From the root ب خ ر (b-ḵ-r), related to vapor. Compare with بَخَرَ (baḵara, “to boil”), تَبَخَّر (tabaḵḵar, “to evaporate, to perfume with incense”) and بُخَار (buḵār, “vapour, steam”).
