From خفیف‎ (hafif, “light, not heavy”) +‎ ـلنمك‎ (-lenmek, suffix forming passive infinitives from stems ending in front vowels).

(intransitive) to become light or lighter in weight
(intransitive) to lighten up, to become less serious
