Reborrowed from Arabic فَالُودَة (fālūda), from Middle Persian [script needed] (pʾlwtk' /pālūdag/, “starch jelly, flummery”, past participle), Middle Persian [script needed] (pʾlwtn' /pālūdan/, “to strain, filter, purify”) (see Persian پالودن (pâludan, “to cleanse, purify, filter, refine”)).
