Verb
ܡܲܢܦܸܠ • (manpil) (present participle ܡܲܢܦܘܼܠܹܐ (manpulē), past participle ܡܘܼܢܦܸܠܵܐ (munpillā))
- to drop
- ܡܘܼܢܦܸܠ ܠܝܼ ܡܵܐܢܹ̈ܐ ܠܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܘܬܒ݂ܝܼܪܗܘܿܢ.
- munpil lī mānē l-arʿā w-tḇirhon.
- I dropped the plates on the ground and they broke.

- The police arrested him and he had to drop his weapons.
Usage notes
- When someone has accidentally dropped something by losing his or her grip on it, it is more common to use ܢܵܦܹܠ ܡ̣ܢ (nāpēl min, “to fall from”) rather than ܡܲܢܦܸܠ (manpil). In that case, the subject denotes the dropped item, and is usually postponed:
- ܩܲܢܝܵܐ ܢܦܝܼܠ ܠܹܗ ܡܸܢܝܼ. ― I (accidentally) dropped the pen. (literally, “The pen fell from me.”)
