Etymology
From Proto-Indo-Aryan *kumbʰás, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *kʰumbʰás. Cognate with Avestan 𐬑𐬎𐬨𐬠𐬀 (xumba), Tajik хум (xum), Yagnobi [script needed] (humb).
