  • A दवाखाना (davākhānā) is used to refer to any doctor's office or small hospital in which the doctor examines patients and dispenses medicines himself or herself rather than writing prescriptions. A large hospital is usually called an इस्पितळ (ispitaḷ), रुग्णालय (rugṇālay) or हॉस्पिटल (hŏspiṭal).[1]
