Etymology

Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘦𑘠𑘿𑘧𑘹𑘽 (madhyeṃ), 𑘦𑘠𑘹𑘽 (madheṃ), borrowed from Sanskrit मध्य (madhya). Doublet of मध्य (madhya) and माज (māj). Compare Bengali মধ্যে (moddhe).
