Blend of စက် (cak, “machine”) + ယန္တရား (yanta.ra:, “instrument”), the former from Pali cakka, and the latter from Borrowed from Sanskrit यन्त्र (yantra, “instrument; apparatus; machine; appliance”). Doublet of ယန္တရား (yanta.ra:).
