შორშან
Bats
Etymology
According to Starostin, akin to Chechen шоршал (šoršal), сорсал (sorsal), шаршул (šaršul), Ingush сарсал (sarsal, “thrush”), Bezhta шашу (šašu, “swallow”), all ultimately from the proposed Proto-North-Caucasian *šVnšV-.[1]
According to Bertlani, borrowed from Georgian შროშანი (šrošani, “starling”).[2]
