Etymology
Shortened from 明日は檜になろう (asu wa hinoki ni narō, literally “tomorrow [the asunaro] will become a hinoki cypress”),[1][2] a blend/compound of 明日 (asu, “tomorrow”) + なろう (narō, volitional form of verb なる (naru), to “become”).
The kanji spelling is literally "next (day) + hinoki cypress".
