𐬀𐬴𐬀𐬎𐬎𐬀𐬥
Avestan
Etymology
From Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hr̥táHwan-, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂r̥téh₂-wen-, possessive derivation of *h₂r̥tós (“fitted”) (*h₂er- (“to fit; fix; put together”) + *-tós (“deverbal adjective suffix”)), whence also 𐬀𐬴𐬀 (aṣ̌a). Cognate with Old Persian [script needed] (artava, “righteous, blessed, characterized by Arta”), Sanskrit ऋतावन् (ṛtā́van).
