Etymology

From an earlier *tayo, from Ashokan Prakrit 𐨟𐨿𐨪𐨩𐨆 (trayo, nominative), from Sanskrit त्रयस् (tráyas)[1] (see त्रि (trí)). Cognate with Pali tayo. Related to 𑀢𑀺𑀡𑁆𑀡𑀺 (tiṇṇi).
