Etymology
From Proto-Balto-Slavic *-iškas, from Proto-Indo-European *-iskos. Cognate with Lithuanian -iškas, Proto-Slavic *-ьskъ and Proto-Germanic *-iskaz (English -ish, German -isch, Swedish -isk, etc.). Found mostly in non-native words; possibly a borrowing (perhaps from German).
