Hurenbock

German

Etymology

From Hure (whore) + Bock (buck).

Noun

Hurenbock m (genitive Hurenbocks, plural Hurenböcke)

  1. (derogatory) a promiscuous man, especially (but not necessarily) one who frequents prostitutes

Usage notes

  • The word is virtually never used in a positive, macho tone and has similarly negative connotations as Hure or Schlampe have for a woman. It is, however, less frequent in everyday use than these last.
