Proto-Finnic
Etymology
From earlier *ašma or *asma, (whence also Proto-Samic *vuosvēs), probably ultimately borrowed from Proto-Indo-Iranian [Term?] (whence Sanskrit अश्मन् (aśman, “eater”)). [1] This etymology is incomplete. You can help Wiktionary by elaborating on the origins of this term.
