Proto-Finnic
Etymology
From earlier *ana + *-odak, from Proto-Finno-Permic *ana, akin to Erzya анамс (anams, “to want, ask, beg”) and Moksha анамс (anams, “to want, ask, beg”). Proto-Samic *ānōtēk is possibly an early loan from Finnic.
