Etymology
Borrowed from Scythian *xata, from Proto-Iranian *kátah (compare Avestan 𐬐𐬀𐬙𐬀 (kata, “room, hut, cellar”), Persian کده (kade, “house”), Middle Persian 𐭪𐭩𐭪𐭲 (ktk' /kadag/, “house”)).
