From Proto-Turkic *yalïg (?) ("tongue") + Proto-Turkic *-ga. Possibly related to Proto-Mongolic *doluxa- and Proto-Tungusic *ǯali-. See Mongolian долоох (doloox, “to lick”) and Evenki дяликса (ʒaliksa, “saliva”) (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
