Etymology
yellow (“a colour like that of copper”) + knife (“a tool prominently made, used, owned, and traded, by the T'satsąot'ınę”). From Dogrib T'satsąot'ınę. Named after the Tsatsaotine (“Copper People”) (the Yellowknives), a local Dene tribe that made copper tools.
