aramaq

Azerbaijani

Etymology

Cognate with Turkish and Turkmen aramak. Presumably related to Azerbaijani arxa (ultimately going back to Proto-Turkic *ărka (back)) and not immediately related to ara (middle, space, gap, interval), with the sense 'search' having developed from 'going after/behind someone's back'. [1]
