Borrowed from Avestan 𐬛𐬭𐬎𐬑𐬱‎ (druxš), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *dʰrúkš ~ *dʰrúǰʰ-, from Proto-Indo-European *dʰrewgʰ- (“to deceive, mislead”). Cognate with Sanskrit द्रुह् (drúh).
