għollieq
Maltese
Etymology
From Arabic عُلَّيْق (ʿullayq). Accordingly the more etymological spelling would seem to be (nonstandard) għolliq. The vowel phonemes /iː/ and /ɪː/ are merged before [ħ] and [ʔ].
Pronunciation
- IPA(key): /ɔlˈlɪːʔ/
