get-back coach (plural get-back coaches)

  1. (US, sports) A coach who is assigned the task of ensuring another coach (usually the head coach) gets out of the way of the referees during games.
    2019 February 2, Morgan Moriarty, Sean McVay has a get-back coach. Clemson’s pioneering get-back coach explains the job‎:
