Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *gur-, from Proto-Indo-European *gʷerh₃- (to swallow). Cognate to Sanskrit गिरति (giráti, to swallow). From hangura, a suppletive verb, which occurs only in the aorist, the participle and in the tempora and modi based on these stems.[1] Structurally close to Hittite [Term?] (/tangarant/, not having eaten), Lithuanian kanká (pain), Old High German hungar (hunger).
