Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *ksōn(w)ja. Akin to Ancient Greek ξένος (xénos, “foreign”), which according to Beekes is Pre-Greek ,[1] although the existence of an Avestan cognate (Avestan 𐬑𐬱𐬥𐬀𐬎 (xšnau)) questions this.
