Inherited from Ottoman Turkish اهمالكار (ihmālkâr, negligent, careless), from اهمال (ihmāl, neglect, negligence)[1], morphologically Arabic إِهْمَال (ʔihmāl) + Persian کار (kâr), verbal noun of أَهْمَلَ‎ (ʔahmala, to neglect)[2], equivalent to ihmal + -kâr.
