Borrowed from Ottoman Turkish یاصتیق (yastık), یاصدق (yasdıq, “pillow”), from earlier yastuq < *yaztuq, from Proto-Turkic *yạŕtuk (“pillow”). Compare Serbo-Croatian jàstuk, Bulgarian ястък (jastǎk, “couch, bed (in agriculture)”).
