Turkish
Etymology
From Ottoman Turkish قاورمق (kavurmak), from Proto-Turkic *kagur- (“to parch, to roast”). Cognate with Azerbaijani qovurmaq, etc.
Related to Proto-Mongolic *kaxur-, compare Mongolian хуурах (xuurax). (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
