Etymology

Rebracketing of kjerke. The ending -e has disappeared due to apocope. The sound r in Trøndelag dialect is changing into sj before s, k, t or p. Due to this change, the sound combination rk can be understood and writed as sjk or rsk, and vice versa (f.ex. oberst can be mispronouced as obert in case of self-correction of the speaker who tries to avoid dialect in his/hers speech).
