muskać

Polish

Etymology

Inherited from Old Polish muskać. Further etymology uncertain. Perhaps a -sk- extended form of otherwise unattested Slavic continuant of Proto-Balto-Slavic *mautei, from Proto-Indo-European *mew- (to move). If so, cognate to Lithuanian máuti (to scram, skedaddle).
