Alternative forms
- nemmos, nemus
Etymology
Inherited from Latin nēmō (“no one, nobody”), from earlier ne- (“not”) + hemō (“person”). The -s is due to analogy with Old Sardinian alikis < Latin aliquis.[1] Cognate with archaic or dialectal Italian nimo.
