  1. One fond of his own notions, or unduly attached to his own opinions.
    • 1665, Joseph Glanvill, Scepsis Scientifica:
      every conceited Opinionist sets up an infallible Chair in his own brain
  2. One whose unusual or heretical belief or opinion contrasts with the dominant view.
