From Proto-Albanian *raṷīnja, *raudinja, from Proto-Indo-European *HrewdH-. Compare Sanskrit रोदिति (róditi, to weep), Latin rūdō (I shout, cry), Lithuanian raudà (weeping), Proto-Slavic *rydati (to weep).[1]
