From Ottoman Turkish سرینلتمك (serinletmek, to make become cool or cold)[1], from Ottoman Turkish سرین (serin, cool, cold, chilly), from Proto-Mongolic *serixün (cool, fresh)[2][3], morphologically serin + -le + -t (causative suffix) + -(i)ci (occupation, inclination suffix with "i" as epenthesis vowel).
