Albanian
Etymology
- Compound of sh- (“de-, dis-, un-”) + dredh (“turn, revolve, twist”).
- Prefix sh- (“de-, dis-, un-”) from the same root as ith (“behind”), namely Proto-Indo-European *h₁eǵʰs.[1]

Related to dridh (“tremble, quake rock, move”), from Proto-Albanian *dreδ-, from Proto-Indo-European *d(h)r- (“to tremble, quake, rock”). Cognate to Lithuanian drebù (“to tremble, quake”).[3]
