teker
See also: Teker
Hungarian
Etymology
Of uncertain origin. Perhaps from a Turkic language.[1] Compare Turkish tekerlek and değirmen which derive from unrecorded Old Turkic [script needed] (tegir-, “to rotate”), a similar form [script needed] (tevür-) was attested in Old Uyghur and Kashgari’s book, therefore the original verb is thought to be assimilated in Turkic. See Turkish devirmek (“to knock over, turn over”).
