From Old Javanese upĕti, utpĕtti, utpĕti, utpati, utpatti (origin, birth, incarnation; revenue, production; tribute), from Prakrit (for example, Pali uppatti), from Sanskrit उत्पत्ति (utpatti, profit, productiveness).[1] Cognate of Javanese ꦲꦸꦥꦼꦠꦶ (upeti, tribute).
