vogël
Albanian
Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *wāgla, from Proto-Indo-European *Hou-go- (compare Latin vagus (“roaming, wandering”)) and Norwegian våk (“child”). Related to vogërr.[1]. According to Krzysztof Tomasz Witczak, it is the source of the dorian Doric Greek βάδιος (bádios)[2] according to Matasovic, the etymology vogël is controversial and has no accepted source or substrate [3]
