Bollendorp
Dutch
Etymology
Attested as Bollendorp in 1680. Difficult to interpret due to a paucity of old attestations. If the toponym is old, a derivation from Middle Dutch Bolle (“a personal name”) and dorp (“homestead, village, settlement”) is possible. If the toponym is young, a derivation from the plural form of bol (“bulb”) and dorp (“village”) is possible.
Pronunciation
- Hyphenation: Bol‧len‧dorp
