Etymology
Attested as Curren wech and Curren hoff in 1503. Compound of Curre (“a personal name”), weg (“way, road”) and wijk (“neighbourhood, quarter”). The neighbourhood is named after a road running through it. Compare Cornjum, Korhorn and Kornhorn.
