Reconstruction notes

Proto-Kartvelian *du(s₁)te- reconstructed in Klimov 1964,[5] which to this day is quoted by proponents of widely-discredited Nostratic theory (for example Starostin; Dolgopolsky, 2012), reflects an earlier stage of Kartvelian research when Svan შდ ~ შტ ~ შთ ← *თ (šd ~ šṭ ~ št ← *t) wasn't well understood yet.[6] For development, compare: Svan უ̂ოშთხუ̂ (ûoštxû, four)Proto-Kartvelian *otxo-; Svan უ̂ოხუ̂იშდ (ûoxûišd, five)Proto-Kartvelian *xut-; Svan ჩხურუშტ (čxurušṭ, mistle thrush)Proto-Kartvelian *čxartw-; etc.
