Proto-Turkic
Etymology
Perhaps analyzable as *kepe + *-lek. If so, the first element can be compared to Proto-Mongolic *kibe (“moth”) and Proto-Tungusic *gepe-kte (“butterfly”). Whence also Tungusics have common Proto-Tungusic *-kte suffix. (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
The + *-lek suffix (which probably creates a new noun from a noun) can also be seen in *kömbelek (“mushrooms”) and *yidgelek (“berry”).
