Alternative forms
- dyưng
Etymology
From Proto-Katuic *ʄɨɨŋ, from Proto-Mon-Khmer *ɟuŋ ~ *ɟuəŋ ~ *ɟəŋ (“leg, foot”).
Since Katuic and Vietic are the only two Austroasiatic branches with reconstructable *ʄ and Vietic has plain *ɟ for this item, it is not obvious whether Katuic innovated or conserved *ʄ.
Pronunciation
- IPA(key): [ʔaʄɯːŋ]
