Gheg form of Tosk mëz, from Old Albanian manz (Buzuku), from Proto-Albanian *mandja, from *mand- (to feed (trans.), suckle) (modern mënd).[1][2] Close related to Messapic menza (foal). Lent Romanian mânz.[1] More at mënd.
