reżaħ

Maltese

Verb

Possibly from Arabic رَزَحَ (razaḥa, to be exhausted, emaciated, to sink to the ground). The Arabic verb was used especially of overstrained mounts or beasts of burden, thus perhaps from a tottering or quivering motion, which was transferred to shivering. Compare Maltese trieżaħ (to shiver in the cold).

reżaħ (imperfect jirżaħ, past participle mirżuħ)
