Etymology
From Ottoman Turkish صیجاق (sıcak),[1] from older اصیجاق (ıssıcak, “hot, warm”) (via Old Anatolian Turkish [script needed] (isicak/ïsïcak)), equivalent to ısı (“heat”) + diminutive suffix -cak, ultimately from Proto-Turkic *ïsï-, *isi- (“to be hot”).[2]
