sebat
Maltese
Pronunciation
- IPA(key): /ˈsɛ.bat/
- Rhymes: -ɛbat
Numeral
sebat m or f
Usage notes
- The attributive forms are used before counted nouns. The long form is used with broken plurals that begin with a consonant cluster. To the noun i- is then prefixed: tfal (“children”) → sebat itfal (“seven children”). Irregularly this also happens with jiem: sebat ijiem (“seven days”).
- The use of the long form in the above contexts is predominantly observed, but for the most part is not entirely obligatory, meaning that seba' tfal may also be heard.
Turkish
