From Byzantine Greek ἀραχνιάζω (arakhniázō), from ἀραχνι-όω, ἀραχνι-ῶ (arakhni-óō, arakhni-ô, “spin a cobweb”) (ἀράχνη (arákhnē, “spider”)) + -άζω.
