Related to Svan ქორ (kor, house, room) and possibly Mingrelian ო-ქორი-ე / ო-ქირი-ე (o-kori-e / o-kiri-e, hopper (funnel shaped-bin) of a mill), on the basis of which Fähnrich-Sarǯvelaʒe and then Čuxua reconstruct Proto-Kartvelian *kor-.[1][2][3][4] Has also been compared to Proto-Nakh *kōr, whence Chechen кор (kor, window; attic, loft), Ingush кор (kor, window), Bats ქორ (kor, window).[5][2][3]

Compare also Ancient Greek χῶρος (khôros, space, room, place).
